We invest with passion, support with integrity, and we do it for our community.

Our story

Oscar Layton Moore was born in Versailles, Kentucky, on September 26, 1884. Throughout his life, he was a dedicated businessman whose ambition and work ethic eventually brought him to Chicago by 1918, where he continued to build both his career and his legacy.

In honor of his father’s values and impact, his son, Edward Moore, founded the O.L. Moore Foundation in 1968 with a clear purpose: to give back, uplift others, and create meaningful opportunities through philanthropy.

More than 50 years and four generations later, our family remains deeply committed to carrying Oscar’s legacy forward. While our mission is grounded in tradition, we continue to evolve by embracing innovation and new technologies to expand our reach, better serve, and strengthen the communities we are proud to support.

Our mission

The OL Moore Foundation envisions a space where changemakers are empowered to strengthen community and create lasting social impact. By removing financial barriers, we aim to invest in students, mission-driven individuals, and businesses who are committed to creating a more just, compassionate, and thriving world.

“[We] want to take a moment to honor The O.L. Moore Foundation who made the special day happen for our legends battling cancer.”
